Rooted in Our Past
The story of ELCCO began in the Tampa Bay Area, where Founder Frederic Steineck started his journey, apprenticing under a master electrician. Logging his first 3,000 hours on office space tenant improvements, he was captivated by the challenges and camaraderie of the electrical trade. His mentor taught openly and generously, emphasizing the importance of understanding both the theoretical and practical aspects of electrical work. This nurturing environment inspired Frederic, fueling his passion for craftsmanship and continuous learning.
FREDERIC STEINECK
In 1997, Frederic moved to Maui, hoping to carry the same spirit into his new surroundings. He saw an opportunity to bring that same excitement and stewardship of the craft to his new community. Motivated by this vision, he founded ELCCO in 2006, aiming to foster a culture of pride and growth in the electrical trade.
Fortifying Our Future
While we’re very proud of what we’ve accomplished at ELCCO, we’re not afraid to admit that we’ve encountered our share of hardships along the way. We believe that each challenge presents an opportunity to learn and grow, and that mindset is deeply ingrained in our culture.
Early on, ELCCO experienced consistent annual growth of 50% to 100%. However, the rapid expansion of our team uncovered an urgent need for unified direction.
Through research, staff interviews, and workshops, we focused on forming a dedicated leadership team to steer the company. Together, we revisited the core purpose and values upon which ELCCO was founded and worked to refine our processes and culture around them.
Most importantly, we committed ourselves to revisiting and reconnecting with the spirit behind ELCCO annually, to ensure we remain rooted in our foundation and aligned with our vision for what comes next.
The resulting cohesion and accountability to our core values enable us to deliver a consistent, exceptional experience for our team and customers alike.
Through our dedication to providing an excellent customer experience, a supportive employee environment, and repeatedly streamlining our processes, we have our sights on what we call our “Moonshot”: becoming the most sought-after electrical contractor on Maui.
